What Is Considered Fine Jewelry
?
Fine jewelry is a term used to describe jewelry that is of high quality and is often more expensive than other types of jewelry. Fine jewelry is often made of precious metals and gemstones, and is often purchased to be worn as a symbol of wealth or status.
The term “fine jewelry” can be a bit ambiguous, as it can be used to describe a wide range of jewelry. However, in general, fine jewelry is considered to be more expensive and of higher quality than other types of jewelry. Fine jewelry is often made of precious metals, such as gold, silver, and platinum, and of high-quality gemstones, such as diamonds, rubies, and sapphires.
Many people view fine jewelry as a symbol of wealth and status. Fine jewelry is often more expensive than other types of jewelry, and is often worn by people who want to show that they can afford to buy expensive things. Fine jewelry can also be a valuable investment, as the metals and gemstones used to make it are often worth more than the jewelry itself.
How To Solder Jewelry
Solder is a metal alloy that is melted and used to join two pieces of metal together. It is available in a variety of colors, including silver, gold, and copper. When solder is melted and applied to two pieces of metal, it forms a bond that is both strong and durable.
There are a few things that you will need before you can start soldering jewelry. You will need a soldering iron, solder, flux, a flux brush, and a pickle pot. You can find all of these items at your local craft store.
The first thing that you need to do is to flux the joint that you are going to solder. Flux is a chemical that helps to clean the metal and to promote a strong bond between the two pieces of metal. Apply flux to both pieces of metal with a flux brush, and then place the solder on top of the flux.
Next, you will need to heat the solder with the soldering iron. The solder will start to melt and will flow onto the joint. Once the solder has flowed onto the joint, you can remove the soldering iron.
Now it is time to quench the joint. Quenching is a process that cools the metal quickly. This will help to solidify the solder and to create a strong bond. Place the jewelry in a pickle pot and allow it to cool. Once the jewelry has cooled, you can remove it from the pot.
The final step is to clean the jewelry. Use a polishing cloth to polish the jewelry. This will remove any remaining flux and will give the jewelry a shiny finish.
Now that you know how to solder jewelry, you can create beautiful pieces that will last for years.
Ashes Jewelry
is the brainchild of designer Shannon Fenton. Shannon was born and raised in the small town of Gresham, Oregon. After high school she moved to Portland to attend the Pacific Northwest College of Art where she earned her BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing. It was during her time at PNCA that Shannon developed her love of jewelry making.
After college Shannon moved to New York City to pursue a career in jewelry design. While in New York she worked for a variety of jewelry designers, including Philip Crangi and Eddie Borgo. It was during her time in New York that Shannon developed her signature style of combining vintage and modern elements to create unique and timeless pieces.
In 2014 Shannon moved back to Portland and founded Ashes Jewelry. Ashes Jewelry is a line of handmade jewelry that combines vintage and modern elements to create unique and timeless pieces.
