Luckily, if something happens to our precious pieces of jewelry, we can often repair them at home. In this article, we will discuss how to repair costume jewelry at home.
The first thing you need to do when repairing costume jewelry is to determine what is wrong with it. This can be done by simply looking at the jewelry and trying to identify the problem. Once you have identified the problem, you can begin to fix it.
One of the most common problems with costume jewelry is that the clasp becomes loose. This can be fixed by using a small screwdriver to tighten the screws that hold the clasp in place.
Another common problem with costume jewelry is that the beads or stones fall off. This can be fixed by using a small amount of superglue to reattach the beads or stones.
If the necklace or bracelet is broken, you can often fix it by using a small amount of jewelry glue. First, make sure that the pieces are clean and dry. Then, apply a small amount of glue to the broken ends and press them together. Hold them in place for a few seconds until the glue dries.
If the jewelry is tarnished, you can clean it by using a small amount of toothpaste. First, make sure that the jewelry is wet. Then, apply a small amount of toothpaste to a toothbrush and scrub the jewelry. Rinse the jewelry with warm water and dry it with a soft cloth.
By following these simple steps, you can repair most problems that occur with costume jewelry.

Fortunoff Who Built Jewelry Dies
Fortunoff, who built a jewelry business starting with a single store in Brooklyn in 1923, died Wednesday at his home in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was 95.
The family business grew to a chain of more than 60 stores in the Northeast and Midwest. In the 1970s, it was bought by the Zale Corporation, which later became the Signet Jewelers chain.
Fortunoff was known for his high-quality merchandise and his personal touch with customers.
“He was the consummate retailer,” said his grandson, Jay Fortunoff. “He was always out on the floor, talking to customers, finding out what they wanted.”
Fortunoff was born in Brooklyn in 1917 and began working in the jewelry business at the age of 14. He served in the Army in World War II and returned to Brooklyn after the war to start his own business.
